Additional Information

This new style 15 Ft. Cargo Extraction Parachute was developed in the late 1980’’s for extracting the 28 Ft. Heavy Duty Extraction Parachute used on the LAPES system platform loads. The 15 Ft. Canopy has 16 gores, each of which contains 5 rings, using the latest U.S. Military patterns for the required material. The 15 Ft. packed assembly weighs approximately 20 pounds.

The canopy and deployment bag are the same as on the older assembly, P/N 61A4312, with the reefing line and extraction line omitted and replaced by the adapter web, P/N 68C380-10, which connects directly to the 28’’ Heavy Duty Deployment Bag.

All 15 Ft. Cargo Extraction Assemblies are manufactured using the latest revision of material listed in Technical Data.

All 15 Ft. Cargo Assemblies material color was changed to the new U.S. Army color, Camouflage Green #483 in 1995. Adapter web P/N 68C380-10 Buffers and Canopy Bridle Type VIII cotton webbing, PIA-W-5665 which is no longer available, was also replaced with nylon webbing Type VIII/X as noted in technical data.

The Deployment Bag, P/N 58J6100, was revised in 2001 to eliminate the outer and inner loop with Nylon Cord, Type VI and buffer. Two new nylon reinforcement straps, PIA-W-27265, Type VIII, crossing opposite corners of the bag have been added. Pendulum line, Nylon Cord, PIA-C-7515, Type IV, is now looped around center of new reinforcement straps.

All 15 Ft. Cargo Extraction Assemblies are manufactured in strict accordance with Cargo Parachute U.S. Military Specification MIL-DTL-7620, MIL-DTL-9401 and MIL-STD-849, latest revision.

All 15 Ft. Cargo Extraction Assemblies are preserved, packaged and packed in accordance with U.S. Military Specification or customer’’s specific packaging instructions.
